“And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Judges 6:12, NKJV
How do you see yourself? If we’re honest, many of us see things about ourselves that are contrary to how God sees us. There is a tendency in people to see and dwell on the things that we feel aren’t quite right…such as, “My hair isn’t long enough!” “I’m too big.” “I’m too tall.” Or, “I’m not smart enough.” The list could go on and on. The point is, we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14). That isn’t to say that there aren’t some things that we need to do to make positive, healthy changes in our lives, but we shouldn’t get so focused on the negatives that we barely see the good attributes about ourselves.
In the passage above, Gideon was called a “mighty man of valor”. When he was called that Gideon was in hiding from the Midianites. He couldn’t fathom being called mighty (Judges 6). He may not have seen himself as a mighty warrior, but God did!
So likewise, God knows what He has placed in all of us and He gets glory and honor when we see and acknowledge ourselves as He sees us. Take a moment and think about the negative things that you may think about yourself. Find scriptures that combat those thoughts and speak them over yourself. If there are areas that you know need a little “tweaking”, pray and ask God to help you change those habits. God will help you to make choices that work for you and not against you.
Prayer: Father, first and foremost, thank you for your unconditional love for me. I ask that you help me to see myself the way that you see me. You see me victorious, you see me as a conqueror, and you see me as the apple of your eye. Thank you for the promises in your word, I receive them. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
(Read 2 Corinthians 10:5)

Lord help me to see myself as a daughter of the Most High God. As I sit hear this morning listening to the soft warm rain through my open window I’m reminded of how your comforts delight my soul. My heart is open to you. I love you Jesus 💜
I see the world for how I see myself. To see the good in people, to love and empower them without judgment means I need to start with doing that for myself first. I want to change my “I am”‘s so I can become the person God designed me to be, and be willing to destroy my reputation in pursuit of that person. I am fearfullly and wonderfully made! We all are, God doesn’t make junk!
Praise God, Thank you for seeing me the way you see me, and show me how you see me In Jesus Name Amen 💞
Thank you Lord for reminding me I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. I can be my worst critic and judging myself harshly!! Lord help me see myself the way You do and give me the strength to change the things I need to change. Lord help me to love me like You do with all my flaws and weaknesses in Jesus Name Amen!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Right now as I am writing this comment I have only read two lines of this article, and I am in tears. For some reason I could tell that I was not happy. I just came from crying in my moms room, and trying to tell her how I feel but she really couldn’t help so she told me to pray. As I laid on my bed I decided to open this app which I have not even opened since last two months. It spoke directly to me. It was like God was speaking to me in those two lines. My self esteem has been so low lately that I even fine myself to be ugly. I don’t want to but I keep on comparing myself to others, and the “I wish I had this and that…” keeps playing in my mind. Thank God for this article and God really bless the author.
Yes, thank you father . Help me to see me the way you see me , help me not fear but! To trust and see you work in me in those areas that need to be worked on until completion. Amen. Thank you DOTK for this word and prayer God bless you always…🤗❤
