The choice is yours.

“But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being rightβ€”the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also” Matthew 6:33, Amplified.

The husband leaves you and the kids, and the Lord says stay right there. You lose your job without severance pay, and the Lord says stay right there. Your child gets arrested, and the Lord says stay right there. Your ride-or-die friend leaves you, and the Lord says stay right there. The thing is, you’re not there alone. The Lord, who is the anchor of your soul, is with you. Will you stay right there or allow what you’re experiencing to move you? Will you remain seated in the Lord, or will you get out of your place and get out of faith, choosing your way? The choice is yours. You can’t pick and choose your storms, but you can choose how you will respond to them.

A victim mentality blames the storm for moving them out of their seat and making them move from their stance and trust in God. The victim points the blame on the enemy for being too strong; that’s why I got out of faith, but the Lord doesn’t want us pointing the blame at the enemy, and He doesn’t want us to blame the size of the storm as the reason for our cowardice. He wants us to take responsibility for ourselves and stand tall like David before Goliath, fully confident the Lord was with him. He wants us to stand courageously like Moses in front of the Red Sea with Pharoah and his armies behind, trusting in the God who said He was with him…”

Prayer: Father, I choose your will and your way of doing things. I submit myself to you and make a quality decision right now to stay in faith, come what may. I love you, Father, and I receive your help and your love for me. I pray you are continually glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. About 14 months ago I made a pledge to myself I would not let my husband’s unexpected but expected departure for Heaven bring me down to the deep dark pit. Though at times I felt like I was drowning I always knew God was with me and is still with me and is never leaving! In so many ways he prepared me for this time, Thankfully, I had and still have a foundation of faith to draw upon…. I can confidently say He does have good plans for me! I have stories yet to tell, and I’m going to share some in the land of living!
I have witnessed it! Praise God!

  10. I am choosing life! Lord, I am tired of not fully living my life and witnessing all the love that surrounds me. From what I can tell these past days, You are telling me to open my eyes and choose the path of righteousness. We have a choice and I choose God – the lover of my soul, the captain of my sea, and my anchor!
