“Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.…” Proverbs 3:4-6, Berean Study Bible.
I remember during a ministry trip to South Africa, my husband and I were invited to go on a game drive (or a “safari”). Before we left, our driver gave us specific instructions; do not put your legs or arms outside of the vehicle, do not get out of the vehicle, do not make any loud noises, no sudden movements, etc. As we came behind a beautiful family of elephants, someone did something we were told not to do, and an elephant came charging at us. I screamed for the driver to Go, go, go!! He immediately drove the jeep backwards at full speed. With our hearts racing, we came to a stop and waited silently on the side of the road before going any further. After a few minutes, it was safe to go on. We had to trust the driver and do what he said because he had experience in a place that we did not.
God reminded me of that experience when I discovered I have issues with control. He told me, “It’s dangerous out there in the world, and you are in rough terrain like you’ve never been in before. It is important that you trust Me. I am with you and I need you to listen to Me and follow My instructions. I am your Lord, and I am your driver. If you trust Me, I will get you through this, and you will live to tell the story.”
My sister, this isn’t a word only for me. It is for you too. This is when it’s important to trust God and do what He says. He is our driver, Jesus is our leader, and He sees the end from the beginning. He knows where we are and where He’s taking us. We are safe in Him.
Prayer: Father, thank you for speaking to my heart. I receive your words, and I choose right now to trust you. You are good, and you see the end from the beginning. Help me to stay in your will and follow your written and spoken instructions. Help me not lean to my own understanding. I want to arrive safely to your destiny for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“He who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.” Proverbs 28:26
“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will do it.” Psalm 37:5
Thank you Sis Kesha for this prophetic devotional. It speaks volumes to my heart and mind as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil but cling to the Lord. I ask that the Lord be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Please pray for me. Blessings, Shalom and Agape.👀🙏🏽📖❤
Amen! Amen! And Amen! I receive this message for my life and I will wait on You, Lord, and follow Your instructions and keep Your law with me at all times. This reminds me of the scripture in Joshua of how to have good success. Thank You, Father, for Your long-suffering with me. Encouraging me to trust You and believe on You. For Your Word say in:
*Deuteronomy 31:8
“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
