“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].” Philippians 4:6-7, Amplified.
A year ago, while speaking to a group of women in recovery, one woman raised her hand and asked, “You seem to walk in great peace, and you speak so calmly. What can I do to experience the same peace in my life?” I told her I wasn’t sure if it was the Zoloft I was taking at the time or the real peace of God. They laughed at my response. I chuckled and then shared with them how God had given this peace to me. The best medicine cannot touch this kind of peace.
The answer to how to walk in divine peace and enjoy a quiet and calm spirit is prayer and gratitude. Talking with your Father and being thankful to Him is the key that unlocks a flood of peace in your life. Instead of focusing on what’s not going well, I challenge you to turn your heart and your focus to what is true and what is right. You are right with the Father through Jesus, and your name is written in the Book of Life. You are His daughter, and all is well in Him.
The Lord wants you to walk in His divine peace, my sister, and you will in Jesus’ name. The peace of God will flood you, I pray, and you will bless Him with a heart full of gratitude.
Prayer: Father, thank you for speaking directly to my heart. Thank you for everything you have done in my heart and mind. Thank you for rescuing me from a destructive path and crowning me with your love. Thank you for making me your daughter. I bless you, Father. Help me live in deep gratitude and let your divine peace overwhelm me, not just for a moment, but for all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
(Read Psalms 103; Philippians 4:8)
