Your light shines no matter where you are.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Matthew 5:14

I remember years ago a man walked up to me in a home improvement store and said, “You changed my life.” I didn’t remember him, but he remembered me. I asked, “Has anyone ever told you that you look like that guy from “Save the Last Dance”? He smiled and said, “You don’t remember me do you?” Then, suddenly I recognized him. I had met him in the darkest place of my life. He was the guard who sat in front of my hospital room, assigned to watch and protect me from myself. That night, God had used me to impact his life and encourage him deeply even though I needed all of the encouragement I could get. Yet, here he stood in front of me saying how I changed his life. I was speechless. With tears in my eyes, I looked up to heaven and thanked God.

My sister, in your lowest places, when you feel you have nothing to offer anyone because of where you are, God speaks for you. When you feel you have nothing to give anyone, God’s grace presents to others a handful. When you feel your light isn’t shining at all, God’s light is shining brighter than you realize. When Jesus said you are the light of the world, He wasn’t talking about a light that shines only when you feel righteous and holy. You are the light of the world even when you are struggling. Whether you are penniless, dealing with sickness, feeling weighed down, or at your lowest, you are impacting someone with the light of Jesus. No matter where you are, you are still God’s precious daughter. No matter how you feel, you are a blessed city set on a hill for all the world to see. You can’t be hidden. Your light shines brightly!

Prayer: Father, thank you for loving me. Thank you for your goodness and mercy. I love you more than anything. Thank you that your light faithfully shines through me no matter where I am. Thank you. Only a loving God can make that possible. Keep shining in me. Be glorified in this vessel of clay. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  7. Thank You God for doing only what You can do! It’s You working in me that’s affecting my parents…You showed me the other day how they are kinder and more loving towards each other. It’s You in me and me putting aside my carnal thoughts and using the fruit of Your Spirit to glow through. Thank You! Let me continue to be that light for You!

  8. Thank you Jesus. These devotions has been speaking directly to my heart. I’ve been trying different meds, one had me wanting to take my own life. God is strong, he has and still is keeping me ❤️ Even on my worst days I praise God. I trust that I will be able to get well enough to ge back to work full time and support my family and be ready to do Gods will. Thank you Ms. Keisha ❤️🙏

  11. I was just actually pondering about this before I read the devotional. This morning I told my co worker how bright he was because he was wearing all white. He joked and said he needs to be the light of the world.
