Give God your cares.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:6-7,‬ ‭NKJV.‬‬

When Jesus needed transportation, He instructed His disciples to go and get a donkey. The disciples asked, what do we tell the owner while we’re loosing it? He said, tell the owner the donkey is needed for the Lord’s service. They did as Jesus instructed and the owner let Jesus use the donkey. Then the disciples threw their coats onto the donkey so Jesus could sit on it while riding through town.

The Greek word used for “casting all of your cares” is found only in one other place in Scripture, and that is here in Luke 19:35 where it says they threw their coats on the donkey. They threw something they owned that was personal to them.

Your cares are personal to you and are legitimate. Any woman would be concerned if her loved one was diagnosed with COVID, or if there is no income due to job cuts and lay-offs. Any woman would be concerned about the state of our world, the social climate, and worried about the future for our children. These are legitimate cares and concerns.

The thing we must understand, however, is God doesn’t tell us to give our cares to Him because they are unimportant or a light matter. No, He wants us to release our cares to Him because He cares for us and He cares about every thing that concerns us. However, He can’t do what He desperately wants to do as long as we are holding on to our cares.

Just as the disciples coats became something Jesus sat on, God wants to cause us to reign over the very thing that’s weighing us down. Let’s give Him our cares and worries. Let’s give them all to Him. His ability is greater.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for caring for me and every detail of my life. You care about what is tugging at my heart and causing me sleepless nights. I humble myself right now and give my cares to you. All of them. I release them now, and receive rest in my heart and soul. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Psalms 55:22; Romans 5:17)

I’m casting my cares upon The Lord, because I know He cares for me. I have to give this to Him, for it is weighing me down. My earthly father passed away today from Covid, and I’m wondering if I did all I could do for him here at the house without me getting sick too. My mother caught Covid from him, but I didn’t get sick. My mother didn’t t as sick as my dad and she isn’t vaccinated, yet. My dad didn’t get vaccinated because we heard roomers and didn’t get the full facts, and I convinced him to go to the hospital for them to care for him. I was tired and my mom was tired because of the care 24 hours round the getting things because of my dad being uncomfortable.😔😔
I’m asking that all of you pray for me and my family. Pray that this brings us together in a better way too.
Thank you sisters for your support and God bless. He is Worthy to be praised!!🙏❤️
