God’s love goes deeper.

“May be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love” Ephesians 3:18, Christian Standard Bible.

Early this morning, the Lord woke me up. He placed on my heart to look up articles about Jessica McClure, or “Baby Jessica,” as she is famously known. I was 7 years old when on October 14, 1987, she caught the attention of America when at 18 months, she fell down a 22 ft water well while playing in her aunt’s backyard. She was there, in the dark, surrounded by hard rock for 58 hours as many planned her rescue. From the well, she could be heard singing, Winnie the Pooh. From the well, she was heard crying. From the well, she slept as miners dug 30 ft deeper than her fall and wider next to where she was trapped. A paramedic inched his way down the dug hole and across to wrestle her free. Miraculously, she survived and I never forgot it.

The Lord wants you to know today that when you fall, He has already planned your rescue. People may not go that deep in their love for you, but that’s okay. God’s great love goes deeper than your pit and stretches wider. He finds you no matter where you are and sets you free by His power. No matter how long it takes for Him to deliver you from the situation you’ve fallen into, He’s got you, and He’s going to come through for you. It’s going to be okay. From the well, sing to Him. From the well, cry out to Him. From the well, hear the truth of His word digging all around you and let it bring you to a rest in Him.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, that your love is deeper than my pit. Your love is wider. I forgive anyone who felt they couldn’t go that deep with me. They’re not you. Thank you for never leaving me or forsaking me. You are my faithful deliver. Deliver me, Father. Let the power of your word go to work for me until I’m standing strong in you on a firm foundation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  5. This morning, thoughts of my past failures began to run laps in my mind. Right in that moment, an alert notifying me of the release of this devotional popped up on my screen. I read it, and it was just what I needed to pull me out of the momentarily pit of regret and hopelessness I was falling into. I say, momentarily because I nor my God allows me to swallow in that pit for very long. I have to much work to do in the Kingdom. So this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and I press towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus. This devotional helps me to preeeeeeees forward in spite of my past mistakes. Thank you sis, and I am praying for the revival in Kenya even though I can’t be there.

  6. God truly hit the nail on the head when He spoke this into you, for me. Thank you for choosing to listen and obey so I could receive this gift of thought. When falling, I find myself grasping for straws, (reactive straws). Not only do I consider the options of revenge, in all its ways, I poison my thought stream with negative actions to prove a point. When I remember that He has pre determined my escape from my fall, my heart and head re center and refocus on receiving His daily bread, moment by moment and working at not planning my own devastating escape. Glory to God and thank you Jesus. Holy Spirit is active.

  7. Thank You Lord for coming down into my hole….thank You for meeting me where I am and pushing and pulling me up out of this place to one where You want me to be. I will be still and know that You are God, I will not thrash about causing more problems. I will sing praises and do my dance for You! I know You are working all things out for my good and You will not fail!
