Hug, apologize and say, “I love you”.

“This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.” John 15:12

I grew up with a sister, and even though we would argue all of the time, we quickly made up because my mother didn’t tolerate strife in her house. If we fought, she would make us hug, apologize and say, “I love you”. Then we were back to playing again. This is what true sisterhood looked like to me. It was ingrained in my mind that sisters always love and forgive each other no matter what. So when I became an adult and God blessed me with sisters in Christ, I just knew that if anything went down, if there was any drama, any disagreements or any strife, we would hug, apologize, say “I love you” and go back to playing again. The sad reality is that many women don’t know this kind of love among sisters in the Lord.

As sisters, we live in God’s house, He is our heavenly Father, and we abide by His rules. If my mother didn’t tolerate strife and division in her home, surely God doesn’t either. He commands that we love one another as He have loved us. He doesn’t suggest it or say to only love if we feel like it. He commands it. Our sisterly bonds in Christ must deepen and be strengthened so that the world can know that we’re truly His disciples by how we love each other.

Prayer: Yes, Lord. Thank you for speaking to my heart. Forgive me for not loving my sisters like I should. I ask that you show me how to love the way you have loved me. I want to do whatever makes you happy. So help me God to look past faults and see my sister’s heart. I pray you bring a spirit of love and unity among your daughters. We need you Lord. Help us learn to love each other in a way that glorifies you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  3. Yes Father, it’s Your commandment not a suggestion to love one another, and I’m learning to love how You have loved me to let my sister’s know that I am Your disciple!!! Plus, I know if I don’t forgive You won’t forgive me and no one is worth my salvation that’s free from You.✝️🙏❤️❤️❤️

Sister Kesha, thank you for this topic because it’s what should be done. 💕💐💜💕💐💜

  4. Thank you Sis Kesha. This devotional speaks volumes as there is lack of love in the world. If it had not been for the love of Christ Jesus, I would not have none, be nothing. I have never experienced unconscious love in my life but God. This devotional will help keep me focus on the love of Christ. Many Blessings, Shalom and Agape 👀🙏🏽📖❤🙏🏽

  5. Wonderfully put, there’s so many things that we did not leave behind that we are under suggestion that it’s OK to do I thank you for your word this morning hopefully it will help me God bless you.

  6. This is exactly how l was raised, and l have 2 sisters and a brother. . My dad raised us to never fight each other and if we did we were reprimanded for it and my Dad got to the bottom of it AND MADE US MAKE-UP‼️ It seems like everyone holds grudges today and never think about FORGIVENESS.
