Jesus came down.

“For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will” John 6:38, New Living Translation

On this Holy Week, as we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, I want to bring our focus to one thing: Jesus came down. My sister, He didn’t wait for us to meet His demand of perfection or righteousness before He loved us. He came down and met us where we were. I pray we will do the same. We lose people when we demand perfection and right living from them without coming down, remembering all that Jesus did for us. Let’s come down and meet people where they are. Let’s get our washed in the blood hands Kingdom dirty in doing the work He’s called us to do.

You had nothing going on until He came down and met you in your lost and broken state, and dressed you. Take all of that gratitude you feel towards Him and imitate Him by humbling yourself to reaching the lost and broken, the dirty and thrown away. God will clean them up, renew their minds, and change their lives all because His daughter imitated Him and came down.

Prayer: Yes, Lord. I hear you and I receive your instructions. You came down to save me. With all my heart, I thank you. Help me never be too good, too holy, or too heavenbound to come down and reach people who need you. Get me busy doing the work of your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
