The Greatest Chef

“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” Psalms 34:8, Berean Study Bible

If I married the world’s greatest chef, people would probably say, “You have it made! I know everything he cooks tastes amazing!” However, what if I responded, “I have never tasted his cooking before. Yes, he cooks for everyone else, but I don’t let him cook for me. I eat fast food instead.” To be married to the world’s most greatest chef but never enjoy his cooking doesn’t make sense. Likewise, to be in a covenant relationship with our Father through Jesus and choose not to enjoy His goodness and mercy, His life-giving power, His great wisdom, His delicious word, and His mighty strength in our lives doesn’t make any sense.

God doesn’t just want us to be in relationship with Him. He wants His daughters to receive and enjoy every redemptive right that’s been provided through Jesus. He longs to be good to us, but He won’t force it. He longs for us to taste and see that He is good, but He won’t go against our free will. Come to Him and taste and see that the Lord is good. Taste and see that life completely surrendered to Christ is good. Let Him show you just how truly amazing He is!

Prayer: Father God, you are my Peace and my Great Physician. You are my Friend and my Great Deliverer. You are my Great Provider and my loving Father. You are in a covenant relationship with me, and I want to enjoy you more. So, I come to you and let you love me, let you heal me, and let you take this weight off of me and give me peace. I receive from this deep well of salvation. I receive from this meaningful, precious, and powerful relationship I have with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Galatians 3:14)
